Reiki healing is a technique which helps reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep and promote feelings of wellbeing. It is a gentle therapy, calming and relaxing and brings our natural energy back into balance.
It is very effective, always beneficial and compliments traditional medicine to relieve side-effects and promote recovery. Reiki can never do any harm and you can never receive too much.
Even though Reiki healing is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. There is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Although most people find that receiving Reiki helps them to feel more connected to universal love.
The word Reiki comprises two Japanese words – Rei meaning Wisdom or Higher Power and Ki meaning “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “higher power life force energy”. The energy comes from God / Source and is channelled through me, the practitioner to you. You may feel a warm or cool or tingling sensation, you may not feel anything, but Reiki will still work.
When this energy flow is blocked, we experience pain or discomfort, we experience negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves which causes dis-ease, we experience discomfort but we don’t know why! Reiki healing releases the blockage allowing the energy to flow freely once more.
Reiki sessions are 1 hr duration and take place fully clothed. During the session, you may become aware of colours, or you may feel a warmth or coolness, maybe a tingling sensation. You may experience nothing at all but that’s ok, it doesn’t mean Reiki is not working. It is, although you may not feel the benefits immediately, you will!
