World Mental Health Day.  Sometimes called Emotional Health or Wellbeing, our mental health is just as important as our physical health, if not more so.

Most people feel a little stressed, anxious, depressed or afraid at one time or another and usually that feeling will pass quickly, but sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it can develop into something more serious.  It can stop you wanting to go out, seeing friends and family or taking part in activities you would normally enjoy. It can even develop in physical pain or discomfort but it is still a mental health problem.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or Tapping) can be very effective for mental health, by uncovering the real underlying cause of these feelings. EFT is an holistic therapy and I work with my clients to discover more about their physical, mental and emotional state rather than just the ailment they present with.

Our emotions, the way we ‘feel’ about things are important to us. Thoughts and feelings are often buried deep with our subconscious, long forgotten, but still there.  We then form beliefs around these thoughts, we believe them to be true.  The truth is, it is only a thought and a thought can be changed!

What beliefs do you have?  Are they true?

Were you told ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ or ‘I’m not made of money’ when you asked for something as a child and now worry about never having enough money? Or what about being told you were too fat or too skinny as a child and have struggled with weight issues ever since?  Well, you don’t have to keep believing it, you can do something about it using EFT. https://karenpeddieholistics.co.uk/eft/

EFT works by changing our negative thoughts and feelings into positive ones. It is easy to use and simple to learn. It is often referred to as acupuncture without needles and works with the body’s natural energy system. When the energy is free flowing, everything in our lives flows with ease. Blockages in the energy flow are caused by negative thoughts and feelings and result in dis-ease, discomfort, fear of phobias.

Modern living is stressful, and 1 in 10 people currently suffer from anxiety and depression. Everyone is different but mental health issues can affect anyone at any time in their lives. It is nothing to be ashamed of.  Sadly, too many people are afraid to ask for help for fear of being labelled or how others will react to them.

World Mental Health Day is a reminder there is help available, you do not have to suffer alone.  I was in a very dark place once and had been taking antidepressants for over 20 years.  EFT and Reiki helped me find my way out of the darkness and into a much lighter, brighter place

Easy? Hell no, Worth it? Absolutely! I am so much calmer now and back in control of my life.  On World Mental Health Day you can take the first step to change your life for the better.  Sound good? Call me on 07903 916639 or email karen@karenpeddieholistics.co.uk and book a session
